INFO: What to check if you are not getting e-mail messages

 

There are a number of reasons why you may not be receiving e-mails. Listed below are the details you should check to help rectify this problem before contacting support.

1) Options|Setup|E-mail|General Options

Ensure you have entered correct e-mail addresses in the ‘Send To’ box.

Check that the ‘From Address:’ is valid on your mail system. (The address must contain an @ symbol to be considered valid by CatTools.)

Use the Test Email button to check your settings.

If you have ticked the ‘Only send when in timer mode’ boxes then you will not receive e-mails when you perform a ‘run now’ activity. You will only get e-mails when activities are run from the scheduler.

2) Options|Setup|E-mail|Primary SMTP Server Setup

Check that these details are correct.

3) Select the activity you are experiencing problems with and click the ‘Edit’ button.

On the e-mail tab check that the appropriate boxes are ticked. If you have specified an alternate e-mail ensure that this is valid.

On the options tab ensure that the appropriate boxes are ticked. For the backup pay particular attention to the ‘Only notify by e-mail if configs have changed box’ and the ‘Reports’ drop down list box.

4) In the main CatTools screen open the Mail Tab and check that there are no e-mail messages queued. If there are queued messages right click on them and delete them.
