Check the Windows Firewall

If you are using a version of Windows that comes with Windows Firewall, you may need to an an exception into its configuration so that it will allow syslog traffic through to Kiwi Syslog Daemon.

To add an exception into the Windows Firewall…

        1. Open the Windows Firewall from the Control Panel, and click on the Exceptions tab.

        2. Click the Add Port button.

        3. Add an exception similar to the one shown in the image above.

*** If you have also set up Kiwi Syslog Daemon to listen for syslog messages via TCP or SNMP traps, then you will need to repeat the steps above and change the port and protocol as required.
