Kiwi Syslog Server is licensed on a "Per Install" basis. This means that you require a separate license for each system that you intend to install and register the program on. As you don't actually monitor devices with Kiwi Syslog Server a single install is capable of receiving syslog messages from any number of devices. All you need to do is configure each device to send it's syslog information to the IP address of the system that you install Kiwi Syslog Server on. As an example. If you are wanting to install Kiwi Syslog Server on two systems, say one in your DMZ and also one on your local LAN, and you were wanting each of these to receive syslog messages from multiple network devices, then you would need two separate "Single Install" licenses regardless of the number of devices that will be sending to these installations. How do I configure my network devices for use with Kiwi Syslog Server? Information on how to configure most network device types can be found in the Help file under the section titled "Configuring Syslog enabled devices". What do each of the license types refer to? For a definition of the available license types please see the following knowledge base articles; What is a Single Install License? |
