HOW TO: Receive notifications of device config changes

This information assumes that you have previously created a daily backup schedule to collect the config of each device and that CatTools is installed in the default "C:\Program Files\CatTools3" installation folder. If a change has occurred to one of your devices since the captured config files were last downloaded, CatTools can send you an e-mail that includes the changes as an attachment. The old config files are placed in the "C:\Program Files\CatTools3\Dated Configs\Device Group" folder and the new configs in the "C:\Program Files\CatTools3\Configs\Device Group" folder. The files in the dated folder are renamed to include a date and time stamp when changes are detected so you can get an idea (within a day or the frequency of your backup activity) of when the config files have been changed. To compare the current config backup file to a config file of an older date or to a config file from another device, you may do so by manually selecting config files using the CatTools Compare tab.
