To move your current settings to another system, you will need to follow these steps: - With your current system, you will need to create an INI file that contains all your Kiwi Syslog Server settings. You can do this by using the Kiwi Syslog Server File | Export settings to INI file menu option.
- Save this file to floppy disk, or some place on your LAN that can be accessed by the new system.
- Now that you have all your settings backed up, you will need to un-install the current version of Kiwi Syslog Server. You can do this from the Add or Remove Programs applet located in the Windows Control Panel.
- Now you are ready to install Kiwi Syslog Server on the new system. If required, you can download the latest version from our website.
- Once the installation is complete, if you have chosen to run Kiwi Syslog Server as a service, then this will also need to be installed and started. You can do this via the Kiwi Syslog Server | Manage menu.
- Enter your license details to register the product. This can be done from the Help | Enter registration details menu.
- To import your settings, click on the Kiwi Syslog Server File | Setup menu, then click on the Defaults/Import/Export section. Now click the 'Import settings from INI file' button. You will be prompted for your settings file.
- Check that the imported settings look correct, then press OK.
- You will need to restart Kiwi Syslog Server, to ensure that all the changes have taken effect. If you are running the service version, you will need to restart the service using the Kiwi Syslog Server | Manage menu option.
