It does not use any of the functionality of CatTools to do this, so you will still need to enter your usernames and passwords as appropriate. Vista and Server 2008 issues By default Vista and 2008 Server do not install a telnet client so pressing the telnet button will have no effect. To remedy this install the default telnet client as outlined below; Vista 1) Open the control panel. 2) Double click on programs. 3) Select ‘Turn Windows features on or off’ 4) In the list of available features find ‘Telnet Client’ and tick it. 5) Click OK, and the installation should begin. This can take several minutes. 6) Telnet should now be installed and the telnet button should work. 2008 Server 1) Open the control panel. 2) Double click on Programs and Features. 3) Select ‘Turn Windows features on or off’ 4) Select Features and click Add Features. 4) In the list of available features find ‘Telnet Client’ and tick it. 5) Click Next, Click Install. The installation should begin. This can take several minutes. 6) Telnet should now be installed and the telnet button should work. |
