ERROR: Kiwi Syslog Daemon is displaying lots of Denied ICMP messages

If you have installed Kiwi Syslog Daemon on your Windows XP, 2003 or Vista system and you have turned off the Windows Firewall, you may find that whenever you turn off Kiwi Syslog Daemon, you receive a lot of messages similar to the following;

DateTimePriorityHostnameMessage
2006-11-1212:08:28Local7.ErrorPIX%PIX-3-313001: Denied ICMP type=3, code=3 from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx on interface 1

This is because your Windows system will send an ICMP type 3 response to any packet received that is sent to a port that it is not currently bound to.

The best way to stop these messages is to turn on your Windows Firewall and create an exception.

For information on how to create an exception in the Windows Firewall, please read the following article:
HOW TO: Add an exception to the Windows Firewall
