ERROR: -2147217887 with Windows 2000 Server system

Symptoms

 Upon adding or editing a device or activity to Kiwi CatTools running on a Windows 2000 Server system, you receive an error message stating the following:

Device: "CatDBDeviceSave error #-2147217887:Update or CancelUpdate without AddNew or Edit."

Activity: "Error Number: -2147217887 | Description: Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors."


Reason

 The Microsoft Jet drivers required by the Kiwi CatTools application, to write to the database file are either corrupted or missing. If missing, it could be because the Kiwi CatTools minimum system requirements for a Windows 2000 Server system, have not been met.


Resolution

Reinstall the Windows 2000 Server, Service Pack 3.
