Kiwi Enterprises - ERROR: 424 or Object required error


Kiwi syslog easily outperforms any other monitoring system I've used.

ERROR: 424 or Object required error

Symptoms

Upon starting Kiwi CatTools, you receive a prompt stating the following:

"424 or Object required error"

Reason

These errors are caused when an ActiveX component fails to register itself on your system, during the program installation. To fix this error, reboot your computer. If this does not fix the problem, then close all your currently running programs, re-install the program over the top of the existing installation and reboot your system.

Resolution

You can manually register OCX's by doing the following:

Open an MSDOS window
Type in... cd\windows\system32 or for Windows95 cd\windows\system
Then type in... RegSvr32 *.ocx

Note: The * represents the name of the OCX that you are trying to register, for example:- RegSvr32 ntsvc.ocx

You should get a message box that says the control registered correctly, and you can then start Kiwi CatTools normally.

If you are running Windows 95 then you may not have the all the necessary files on your system.
