When running the CatTools service there may be some issues when viewing the CatTools user interface.
By default the CatTools service is installed to the local system account with the setting Allow service to interact with desktop set on so you can see the application when you are physically logged in at the server console.
However, if you are using Terminal Services/Remote Desktop to access the machine remotely you may not be able to see the CatTools Service interface. Microsoft do have a switch for starting Remote Desktop Connections that should provide you with the actual server console from a remote connection:
"mstsc.exe /console"
See your windows help for more details.
When CatTools is installed to run under a different account the option to interact with the console is not available, so the user interface cannot be displayed on the console. CatTools provides the Manager application that allows you to manage the service and use the Remote Access button to run CatTools in standard mode when it is not possible to see the interface from the service.
For issues arising when using other remote desktop software, see the topic Remote Desktop Systems in the Troubleshooting chapter.
