CatTools supports the concept of variables that can be applied to some of the property fields of some activities.
Variables can be used within the commands set for Enter Command or Modify Config activities. See the section Command Variables.
Variables can also be used within the filenames that are set as the properties of activities, normally for reports or captured data. See the section Filename Variables.
These variables are resolved to actual values at the time the activity is started.
