The options presented depend on the type of activity selected. Most are reasonably self-explanatory.

The activity types and respective options, are:

Connectivity.Inter-device ping

Ping a list of hosts (Display name, IP address): hostname entry field

Or, ping all other selected devices:
tick box

Only record ping failures:
tick box


Connectivity.Login test

Enter enable mode if possible: tick box to have the Login test attempt to enter enable mode once it is connected to the device

Only record login failures:
tick box to only record login failures (successful logins create no records in files)


Connectivity.Ping test

Response timeout (seconds): the number of seconds for the ping to wait until it times out and assumes a failure

Ping packet send count:
enter the number of ping packets you want to send

Only record ping failures:
tick box to record only ping failures (successful pings create no records in files)


General.Backup Running Config

Use alternate command: tick box activates command entry field, and allows you to enter alternate commands.

Current Config File:
(Filename, Browse)

Dated Config File:
(Filename, Browse)

HTML compare report:
tick box activates Filename field and Browse button

Text summary diff report:
tick box activates Filename field and Browse button

Only notify by e-mail if configs have changed:
tick box

Attach reports to e-mail:
tick box activates drop down list:
- HTML compare reports only
- Text diff reports only
- Both reports

Zip attachments:
tick box to have reports zipped as e-mail attachments

Password protect Zip file:
tick box activates password entry field


General.Enter command

Commands to be entered into the device (Max 10,000 chrs): Enter commands you want to be sent to the device. Enter each command on a new line.

Or, read commands from file (Filename, Browse, Edit):
Enter the filename of a text file containing commands you want to be sent to the device. In the file, each command should be on a new line. Use the Browse button to select the file, and the Edit button to open and edit the file.
[The command field or filename field are activated via tick box. When the box is ticked - which is the default - the command field is active and the filename field is inactive. Untick the box to deactivate the command field and activate the filename field and associated Browse and Edit buttons.]

Enter commands in enable mode:
tick box to have commands entered in enable mode if possible

Save device output to file (Filename, Browse):
tick box to have device output saved to file. Default is ticked, default filename based on Date. Browse to select your own file.

Overwrite existing capture file:
tick box to overwrite existing capture file. Default is ticked.

Answer [yes] to any confirmation prompts:
tick box to automatically answer "yes" to any confirmation prompts. Default is ticked.

Stop on error:
tick box to have the scheduled activity stop if it encounters any errors. Default is ticked.


General.Modify config

Config commands to be entered into the device (Max 10,000 chrs):
Enter configuration commands you want to be sent to the device. Enter each command on a new line.

Or, read commands from file (Filename, Browse, Edit):
Enter the filename of a text file containing commands you want to be sent to the device. In the file, each command should be on a new line. Use the Browse button to select the file, and the Edit button to open and edit the file.
[The command field or filename field is activated via tick box. When the box is ticked - which is the default - the command field is active and the filename field is inactive. Untick the box to deactivate the command field and activate the filename field and associated Browse and Edit buttons.]

Save device output to file (Filename, Browse):
tick box activates the filename field. Default is ticked, and the default filename is based on the Date (so that a new file is created every 24 hours).

Overwrite existing capture file:
tick box to overwrite existing capture file. Default is ticked. If un-ticked, the capture file is based on the Date and captured data is appended to the file until the date changes, when a new file is created using the new date.

Answer [yes] to any confirmation prompts:
tick box to automatically answer confirmation prompts

Stop on error:
tick box to stop if the activity encounters any errors

Save running config to start-up config when complete:
tick box to save the running config to start-up config when the activity completes.


Report.ARP address table

Use alternate command:
tick box activates command entry field, and allows you to enter alternate commands.

Days until entries expire:
tick box activates field (default is 30 days). Enter number of days until existing MAC address table entries expire. This keeps the table to a workable size.

Resolve IP addresses to host names: tick box activates resolution of host names to IP addresses for report


Report.error info table

Specify Report Headers:
grid to allow the selection, naming, and ordering of column headers for the report

Calculate column totals:
tick box activates calculation of column totals

Clear the interface counters:
tick box activates the clearing of the interface counters

Collect VLAN information: tick box activates the addition of VLAN information to the report


Report.MAC address table

Use alternate command:
tick box activates command entry field, and allows you to enter alternate commands.

Days until entries expire:
tick box activates field (default is 30 days). Enter number of days until existing MAC address table entries expire. This keeps the table to a workable size.


Report.Master Port-MAC-ARP x-ref

Current Port info table:
the path of the port info table to use for the x-ref

Current MAC address table:
the path of the MAC address table to use for the x-ref

Current ARP table: the path of the ARP table to use for the x-ref

Max MAC entries per port:
enables a limit of the number of MAC entries to be displayed in the report on a port - useful for trunks and similar ports

Interfaces to exclude: regular expression to indicate ports to ignore when reporting


Report.Port info table

Use alternate command:
tick box activates command entry field, and allows you to enter alternate commands.


Report.Version table

Use alternate command:
tick box activates command entry field, and allows you to enter alternate commands.
